Summary

QCView does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All application data remains on your device.

Data Collection

QCView does not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage statistics. No data is sent to us or any third party automatically.

Local Data Storage

QCView stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\qcview\
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/qcview/
  • Linux: ~/.config/qcview/ and ~/.cache/qcview/

Data stored:

  • Application settings and preferences
  • Project files and timeline data
  • Frame cache and temporary render files

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Network Activity

QCView makes no automatic network connections. The only network features are:

  • Frame.io Integration (Optional): If you choose to use the Frame.io integration, QCView connects to the Frame.io API (api.frame.io) using an API token that you provide. This connection is used solely to retrieve comments associated with your Frame.io assets. No data is uploaded to Frame.io through QCView.

  • Help Menu Links: The Help menu contains links to documentation, license information, and release notes. Selecting these opens your default web browser. QCView itself does not fetch or transmit any data through these links.

Third-Party Services

QCView does not integrate with any advertising, analytics, or tracking services. The optional Frame.io integration communicates only with Frame.io’s API at your direction and with your credentials.

Children’s Privacy

QCView does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
